Next week - Veggie Grill Fire Supper & our October Feast night
I absolutely bloody LOVE cooking vegetables over fire - whisper it softly but I might even prefer it to cooking big lumps of cow or glistening stiff-fresh sea bass. There’s a magic that happens with vegetables and fire that eclipses even the finest steak.
So on Wednesday evening we are really excited to host our Veggie Grill Fire Supper where the veg patch is taking centre stage. If you fancy a midweek, meat-free evening in a cosy barn with lots of like-minded people then this is for you. You’ll also get all of this served on our vintage platters to help yourself.
Vegetarian Grill Menu
Smashed crisp Jerusalem artichokes with smoked garlic and tarragon
Smoked celeriac gratin with Gilt & Flint ale and Baron Bigod
Glazed carrots with carrot caramel, pistachios and sumac
Borlotti Beans ragout with slow smoked tomatoes and crispy shallots
Roast Crown Prince squash, sage and nutmeg butter
Grilled stone fruits, whipped vanilla mascarpone and sesame brittle
And while we’ve been enjoying the informal fun of our brilliant Fire Suppers, we’re also looking forward to our October Feast Night next Friday. This is our signature event - a more formal evening beginning with a cocktail and canapés by our bar, and we’ll then seat you inside our lovely Shippen barn for 5 courses of the most beautiful, seasonal food cooked over fire. We have a few tickets so book in quick!
