Spring is sprung - Some exciting HG April events & news for you....
The daffs are out, the sun is shining and the air is filled with the delicious allium whiff of wild garlic- Spring is here! We think it’s nearly time to move our feasting from the Shippen (which has served us brilliantly over the Winter) to the outdoor feasting table. At the moment we’re taking it on a case by case basis depending on the weather!
First up, we have a few spaces for this Saturday’s full-day Fire School -a full day of April sun in our lovely woodland garden, taking in the full gamit of outdoor cooking and ending with a sit down supper. Then, our evening half-day Fire Schools continue on Wednesday 27 April with an Introduction to Fire Cooking, covering all the basics and a great refresher for those who haven’t been cooking outdoors since last Summer. There are only 3 spaces left so if you’d like to book in be quick! You can book here.
Next, a little reminder that next Wednesday 13 April we’ve got our old friend Kathy Slack doing a Cookbook Club Masterclass around her stunning book ‘From the Veg Patch’. Kathy will give you a veggie growing masterclass and chat with Luke about cooking vegetables, in the High Grange veg patch and then Luke will cook a delicious lunch from the book whilst you chat with Kathy and enjoy a glass of wine or two…
Our next monthly Feast is on Friday 22 April with a gorgeous Spring menu shown below. You’ll notice that one of the courses is a Guinea fowl Kyiv - we will donate 10% of all ticket sales to the Disasters and Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal. You can book here.

Finally, we’ll be announcing two exciting new special events in the next few days so do keep your eyes peeled, and we’re delighted to announce that we’re now a licensed venue so we’re thirstily curating a beautiful drinks list showcasing local producers, vineyards and suppliers as well as the best softies for the designated drivers among you (taxis and minibuses can be booked on request!).
