Wednesday 12th October - Thai Barbecue Fire Supper
One of the greatest world cuisines is that of Thailand. For me it’s because of the unerring balance - those searing hot chillis, but palm sugar to sweeten, coconut milk to soften. Aromatic spices and heady lime leaves and lemon grass make every dish sing on your palate. We had our engagement dinner in an incredible Thai restaurant in Brixton called Kao Sarn and it remains one of the great nights out…. (My dancing in ‘DogStar’ later was a low point.)
In recent times my 2 favourite Thai cook books have been Kin Thai by John Chantarasak and Baan by Kay Plunkett-Hogge and it’s from these that I’ve taken my inspiration for next Wednesday evening’s Fire Supper. I’m sourcing authentic Thai ingredients, using authentic Thai recipes but adding incredible Devon produce and our fires. It’s going to be fantastic!
Menu:
Gai Yang
(Grilled coriander and garlic chicken)
Yang Talay
(Grilled seafood with Nan Jim)

As with all our Fire Suppers, its all about the experience of the evening too - we start with drinks outside in our woodland bar area and follow with a sit down supper inside in our cosy Shippen.
