Spring & Summer Food Events

We are in what I’m told is “fools spring” - a week of unseasonably hot weather which makes you whoop for joy and immediately sit in a beer garden drinking aperol spritz. We have to rein ourselves in though - the frost is still there and biting at our heels, so we’re resisting planting out just yet but….oh it feels good to feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, to dream of beach days and holiday, and it has given us enough motivation to plan our Spring and Summer events.


Feasts

Woodland dining is back baby. Start at our woodland bar with a cocktail and canapés, then sit at our outdoor oak table for a five course tasting menu of all the best seasonal, local food, served simply, generously and with love. £85 7-11pm.

Fire Suppers

Our more informal suppers, all based over fire and charcoal, and served in our woodland dining area with the theatre of watching our chefs in their outdoor kitchen. Menus are announced a couple of weeks before - previous suppers have included a whole lamb asado, and steak and chips. £45 7-11pm.

Easter Lunches

This is something we’ve wanted to do for ages, but only now found the time to do! A yummy daytime Easter lunch outside in our communal oak table. Start with fire pit skewers, then sit down for wood-roasted Spring vegetables from our veggie patch, followed by a whole fire-pit lamb, smashed Devon potatoes with while garlic butter, Dalwood asparagus and Spring herb sauce, and finally Rhubarb pudding. £45 12.30-3.30pm.

Fire School

Spending a day outside with a view of the rolling Devon hills, next to a fire pit eating the best British barbecue cooking is never wasted. Our Fire Schools are back for the Summer!
