Special Taste of East Devon event - Friday 16th September
High Grange will be one of the award-winning venues showcasing the region’s food and drink scene in an impressive series of events during the 16 day Taste East Devon festival from 3rd - 18th September 2022, bringing together renowned producers, chefs, restaurants and venues in a brilliant showcase of the incredible food and drink in our region.
East Devon is blessed with some of the finest produce in the world - from award-winning wines to Michelin-starred salad leaves and day-boat lobsters. More than that, within just a few miles of High Grange we can put together a whole menu containing utterly stunning hyper-local seasonal ingredients. For our Taste East Devon event this year we will be championing a carefully selected group of artisan suppliers that we use regularly and which are within a 10 mile radius. Representatives from our suppliers will be present to answer questions, run tastings and generally be interesting and informative!
We’ll be buying a whole pig from Harry at Haye Farm, there will be the freshest day-boat fish from Corinne and Nigel at The Lyme Bay Fish Shack as well as incredible veg and salad from our veg patch and Trill Farm. Dan and Jason will be here from Gilt & Flint with their amazing horse-box bar serving pale ale and lager on tap and the great Mike Huskins from our award-winning Dalwood Vineyard will be on hand to talk you through their still and sparkling wine. For Kombucha lovers, we have Emma from Curious Kombucha to talk about the remarkable brewing process and health benefits of her drinks, and will have her range on offer too….. It’s going to be quite a day!
We’ll have a hour of ‘meet the supplier’ where you can wander round the beautiful High Grange gardens and woodland chatting to these amazing artisans, as well watch Luke as he prepares lunch in the outdoor kitchen.
The event is on Friday 16 September from 11am to 3pm, and tickets cost £75 from here (tickets are limited and won’t last long so be quick!). We wont be releasing the full menu until the day before the event because we are at the mercy of the seas, the weather and the mood of the chef (me!) and thats the way we like it - it will be stiff fresh fish, organic local pork and freshly picked fruit and veg though, all cooked over wood and charcoal!
