High Grange has a new home!
WELL, A SECOND ONE: INTRODUCING THE HG BBQ SHACK @ MILLERS FARM SHOP!
As some of you may know, we’re great friends and huge fans of the wonderful team at Millers Farm Shop in Kilmington, so we’re delighted to say we’ve set up a new High Grange BBQ Shack just outside their front door! We’re serving lunch Wednesday-Saturday between 12pm-2.30pm. Last week we were blown away that we SOLD OUT every day of our 18-hour smoked pork, crispy pork belly, HG hot sauce and burnt pineapple salsa in brioche. This week we are serving the tastiest marinated smoked grilled chicken baps filled with stuffing and (if you want to dirty it up) onion rings, with a little pot of gravy to dip it into. We’ll be selling our vouchers and merch too so come down and say hi!
FRIDAY NIGHT IS TAKEAWAY NIGHT
On Friday nights our Takeaways are flying out the door and we are now offering Bar Buoy’s award-winning Cocktails to enjoy alongside. These are made in Exmouth with excellent ingredients, taste amazing (confirmed by a recent very merry tasting weekend at HG) and they donate to a Seagrass eco charity. This week’s takeaway is Indian Comfort Food inspired by Luke’s friend Asma Khan owner of Darjeeling Express in London. Asma taught Luke how to cook the best butter chicken and rice like an Indian granny when she did a demo at Borough Market that Luke was hosting, and she has written the most gorgeous cookery books. The menu this Friday is Asma’s Butter Chicken, Pilao Rice, Mattar Paneer and Onion Bhajis. Its great value at £40 for 2 people and we’ve added Bar Buoy’s delicious Devon Stormy cocktail - with Two Drifters Signature dark rum, orange bitters, agave syrup and ginger (winner of a Taste of the West Gold, and Food Drink Devon Silver). This week its for pick up at High Grange only, and you can buy it here.
THE FESTIVE SEASON APPROACHES
There are only a few tickets left for our Saturday night Christmas Feast but you can still book for our Friday Night Feast on 8th December. Or get your own group of family, friends or colleagues together and ask us about Private Dining, all held in our cosy Shippen Barn and cooked by Luke. Our Christmas Wreath workshop is sadly all sold out.
If you’re looking for something to fire you up at the start of 2024, our Burns Night event is one of the highlights of our year and tickets are selling fast so do get in quick for the chance to see Luke in his kilt.
And don’t forget Vouchers make a great Christmas gift - we sell them in multiple denominations and they can be used for any of our events or products. Take a look at our event calendar for next year.
Finally, Luke and I are dusting off our glad rags and heading to Torquay on Thursday evening where we’re up for an award for best Experience in the South West Tourism Awards - whatever the result its a very rare night oot for us so we’ll be enjoying meeting so many other local businesses and waving the flag for East Devon! Wish us luck…
