Burns Night 2025 : HG Supper & Re-jig Celidh
One of our FAVOURITE nights of the year is Burns night - the chance for Luke to get his kilt on, make his own haggis, and read Rabbie Burns’ Address To A Haggis, piped on by Jean! And this year it’s going to be extra special…
Sara says:
‘Like most Scots, I consider Burns night our national holiday, and the only night of the year I drink whisky! To me, there is nothing better than the sound of the bagpipes, and Luke (whose great grandfather was a salmon fisherman from Sutherland) agrees - making his own delicious haggis. Its been an honour and a privilege to host our own Burns Night Feast at High Grange here in Devon, a place full of Gaelic history and legend.
We love welcoming both old and returning guests every Burns night for a joyous evening of music, the best Scottish food, celebration and poetry, but the thing we get asked the most is whether we will do a Ceilidh (a traditional Scottish folk dance), and….
…I’m delighted to say this year we will!
We’ve teamed up with the iconic Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis to host our traditional Burns Supper but this time we’re opening it up to a 400-person Ceilidh which will follow the Feast. Home-made haggis, kilts, whisky and the Gay Gordons - what could be better!’
