An introduction to the High Grange family
For our newer followers, I thought I’d give you a little introduction to who we are.
We are a family business at heart. We live here. Our youngest Skye often decides to do a ‘show’ during canapés. Our dog sometimes does a dash to the kitchen to pick up scraps. You may see our son creeping past guests to play in his den.
It hasn’t always been an easy sell for them - that their garden is not always their own - and behind the scenes there have been tricky conversations. Try telling a 5 year old that she can’t stick her finger in the middle of a pavlova even though it looks really good.
But the positives outshine it all. We’re home all the time, we’re showing them what hard work and generosity looks like, and they consider our team as their personal playthings (sorry Meg!), all in the most beautiful place on earth.
The way we measure success has changed too. Of course we need enough money to pay for the millions of projects (remember that film The Money Pit?), but we’ve learned to put family time first. That means being picky about the work we do, taking time to rest, and making sure we have enough time to enjoy High Grange with our friends and family.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about what we’re doing here, including our wellbeing and retreat offerings, but in the meantime, if you’re reading this rushed, looking at a hectic schedule ahead, feeling overwhelmed or burned out - I ask you to consider these questions:
What can I say no to today?
What can I do for 5 minutes today just for me that would make me feel better and more calm?
If I look round now, what is one thing that I’m grateful for?
We look forward to welcoming you up at High Grange soon!
