An Update From High Grange
We have been inundated with queries about when our feast nights are resuming. We’re sorry to have kept you waiting so long, but as you can imagine it’s been hard to envisage how we can do a safe, socially distant communal dining experience that is close to the High Grange feasts we knew and loved before.
We’re delighted to let you know what we are planning for the next few months at High Grange, and how we plan on safely getting you back here.
Behind the scenes we've been busy working with amazing local artists, designers and landscape gardeners to create an incredible outside space which should be ready by mid Autumn. A sneaky peek of some of it is below. We are building an outdoor woodland dining area, with benches and a long table carved out of one of the High Grange oak trees. Having seen the plans, it’s going to be spectacular and we know eating under a canopy of stars next to a fire pit in the woods all lit up with fairy lights will be a magical experience.
Next, we have an outdoor kitchen area with pizza oven and "chef's table" being built next to our vegetable patch. Some of you may have seen our partnership with Big Green Egg (Luke is their Executive Head Chef) and we are delighted to say we will shortly be hosting cooking classes and experience days, and outdoor woodland feasts, using our outdoor kitchen and dining area.
As you know, we’re big believers in eating outdoors over fire and smoke whenever we can, and we have blankets and fire pits to warm you up, but we’re also retaining our indoor dining area at the Shippen for when the weather isn’t kind to us. As you can imagine, it will be incredibly hard for us to host a feast for mixed households while government regulations rightly demand social distance, so for now we can offer private feasts in the Shippen for a minimum of 12 people, and as soon as rules relax we will be hosting numerous feasts both in the Shippen and at our woodland dining area.
Those who have already bought vouchers or feast tickets will always be able to use them at any High Grange event (or private dining) until the end of next year, and in the meantime, please sign up to our newsletter for updates and we look forward to hosting you soon
