Our New Cookbook Club Event
We still have a few tickets left for our first ever lunchtime Cook Book Club event for next Tuesday the 30th November.
As a 'feasting' kind of business it seemed incredibly apt for our first event to celebrate the wonderful 'Feast' by Anissa Helou. This is the book that I have recently turned to more than any other - it's a wonderful compendium of one of the great global cuisines or as the dust cover says 'A sweeping culinary journey across the Islamic world and a celebration of it's most iconic recipes'.
This is a really relaxed affair - Luke will cook a selection of dishes from the book (as ever, outside over charcoal and wood!) and serve you in our beautiful old milking barn - The Shippen (fully heated- this isn't an outside event!) You can bring your own wine or beer or go crazy with a gin and tonic if you like. We'll provide themed soft drinks.
There is some beautiful food writing in 'Feast', not least the author's amazing odyssey to find a camel hump to cook... Luke will join you to eat and talk about why he loves the book, food writing generally and which books we'll be covering in the coming months.
Don’t forget your High Grange goodies you can buy to collect at this event too!
